Interesting that you’d be that aggressive on Akers. Realize that Akers was a few years younger than Mack when he got injured, but still not sure I’d call Mack enough of a success story to give up a 1st on Akers. D’Onta Foreman was as young as Akers when he went down, and he hasn’t looked the same since. Granted, he wasn’t the same caliber player as Akers, but he was physically very gifted, had a similar 40 time as Akers, and he hasn’t made it past a practice squad. Mack did make it onto a roster, but while he’s looked ok he hasn’t looked good enough that any of the 8 million teams that have experienced RB injuries this year felt the need to acquire him in trade this year. That seems pretty telling to me. Makes me question whether the Rams will ever give him the full work load that was intended for him before he got hurt, and that you’d expect out of someone you’re giving up a 1st round pick on.
