20/20 Interview with Jeremy Schwob

This week our psychological expert, Jeremy Schwob, took a few minutes to answer some questions.. Give it a glance. Enjoy!

Where are you from? 

St. Louis, Missouri.

What do you do for your regular job?

Doctoral student in clinical psychology at Penn State.

What is the worst job you have ever had?

Fortunately, none. Caddied through college, did some clinical work, then a research position, now back to finish off the PhD.

What is the best job you have ever had?

Caddying was always great since it didn’t feel like work. I’ve been playing golf since I was like 4. But probably what I’ll be doing in the future is psychotherapy with adults.

What do you consider your dream job? 

Being a clinician will be great, but I always wanted to play golf professionally. Instead I settled for competing for spots in U.S. Amateur and U.S. Mid-Amateur tournaments. 

How long have you been in the industry? 

Just last year when I took the plunge into writing psychological articles on DLF.

How did you get your break into fantasy football? 

DLF’s call for new writers allowed me to write in the Member Corner at first. My first two articles were read by a couple guys that were looking for an expert for a psychological dynasty podcast, then I kept writing for DLF and am a regular now. All happened in the last year. 

What tool do you use the most on DLF?

 ADP. While it’s one data point, I use it to determine where I might need to be in drafts to get the players I want to build around.

What tool do you use the most outside of DLF?

Player Profiler.

Who was the best sleeper you pegged that broke out?

I had Darren Waller in every league heading into last year. James Robinson was my Jaguars Summer Sleeper this year on DLF.

Who was your biggest whiff?

 A couple guys that people would label as whiffs are Corey Davis and Rashaad Penny. Though, I still have hope for their careers. Probably Sammy Watkins though. Loved Sammy.

What is the worst trade you have made?

Chris Godwin and 1.09 for 1.04 to select…Rashaad Penny.

Who is your favorite NFL team?

As a St. Louis Rams fan, every team that plays against the LA Rams on a weekly basis.

Who is your favorite college football team?

WE ARE. PENN STATE.

Who was your favorite player growing up?

Isaac Bruce.

Who is your favorite player of all time?

FOREVER Keenan Allen.

What other hobbies or passions do you have outside of fantasy football?

Golf. All my siblings also played golf collegiately. It’s a great marriage between the mental aspects of my personal and professional interests and my passion for sports. Also, streaming all St. Louis Cardinals and Blues games.

What are some of your favorite movies?

Braveheart, Gladiator, Se7en, The Usual Suspects, Billy Madison, Happy Gilmore, Forgetting Sarah Marshall, Waking Ned Devine, The Legend of Bagger Vance.

Who are some of your favorite bands?

Coldplay, O.A.R., Sia.
