20/20 Interview with Peter Howard
This week senior writer Peter Howard (aka @pahowdy) took a few minutes to answer some questions.. Take a look at what he had to say. Enjoy!
Where are you from?
Shropshire, England (basically the shire).
What do you do for your regular job?
I teach Anthropology and History at a university.
What is the worst job you have ever had?
Some of the different factory jobs in between semesters of my bachelor’s degree, probably. The jobs weren’t terrible in themselves but I found the monotony, concrete floors, and neon-bright white lighting that made it easy to forget if it was day or night dystopian somehow. Never really got used to it.
What is the best job you have ever had?
This.
What do you consider your dream job?
Space cowboy.
How long have you been in the industry?
I’m in? Awesome (I guess 3 years going on 4, or thereabouts. The first article was published in 2017 if I recall.
How did you get your break into fantasy football?
Breaks are continuous and it’s hard to think of anyone thing. I guess the biggest single difference-maker early on was when Sean Slavin of 2Qb’s DM’d me. He’d seen me posting data on twitter that I had painstakingly hand-copied and compiled on college prospects. He helped me get a larger sample in a week then it had taken me a year to compile by myself. He did it for free and just to be a nice guy. I’ll always be grateful for it.

ADP app.
What tool do you use the most outside of DLF?
Roto screener.
Who was the best sleeper you pegged that broke out?
Kenny Golladay? Hard to say. I love them all.
Who was your biggest whiff?
Depends how you measure it, Corey Davis, Michael Campanaro, Leonte Carroo, Isaiah Ford, Rashard Penny…N’Keal Harry will probably top the list if his rookie season is any indication, I was very high on Harry.
What is the worst trade you have made?
Tyreek Hill. I picked him up a lot of places based on his athleticism and his team situation, his college production was just a mystery. I sold him off early as he started to catch fire. His value has kept risen numerous times since then, however. Each one of those trades probably looks terrible by now.
Who is your favorite underfollowed Twitter account?
There’s a few but @JetPackGaileo comes to mind.
Who is your favorite NFL team?
Don’t have one.
Who is your favorite college football team?
Don’t have one.
Who was your favorite player growing up?
Didn’t have one, Steve Bull if you know “English” football. Like to think it would have been Arian Foster though.
Who is your favorite player of all time?
Just going to say, Larry Fitzgerald.
What other hobbies or passions do you have outside of fantasy football?
I like restoring old pocket knives, also writing, long walks in the rain, that kinda thing.
What are some of your favorite movies?
Harvey, Tucker and Dale VS Evil, The Other guys.
Who are some of your favorite bands/singers?
Rage Against The Machine, Nirvana, Kris Kristofferson, Iris Dement.
