Where are you from? I was a navy kid so this is a tough question as I moved around a ton. Growing up, I lived several places in Florida, as well as Exmouth, Australia, Wisconsin, Virginia, and California. At this point I guess I’d say “California.” I went to college at Berkeley and spent about 12 years in the Bay Area and now I’ve been in San Diego for the last 10. What do you do for your regular job? I’m a senior Zookeeper at the San Diego Zoo where I care for a wide variety of animals including polar bears and elephants. What is the worst job you have ever had? Cashier at Burger King. What is the best job you have ever had? Polar bear keeper. What do you consider your dream job? I have been doing my childhood dream job working with animals for 20 years now, but my new dream is to work from home as a full-time podcaster. How long have you been in the industry? 7 years. How did you get your break into fantasy football? I wrote for a very small site that no longer exists before Eric Dickens gave me a shot with DLF in 2015. What tool do you use the most on DLF? Trade Finder. What tool do you use the most outside of DLF? Matt Waldman’s RSP Who was the best sleeper you pegged that broke out? I had Christian McCaffrey as the 1.01 in 2017 rookie drafts but I guess he probably still doesn’t count so I’ll say Cooper Kupp. When he was drafted by the Rams I said on the DLF live show that Kupp will save Jared Goff’s career. Who was your biggest whiff? Dorian Green-Beckham. What is the worst trade you have made? Aaron Jones for Rob Gronkowski late in the 2018 season in a two TE required league. I was the favorite heading into the playoffs but I needed a tight end. Then 2019 Aaron Jones happened. Who is your favorite underfollowed Twitter account? @JMicCheck Who is your favorite NFL team? Green Bay Packers. Who is your favorite college football team? Cal Bears. Who was your favorite player growing up? Sterling Sharpe. Who is your favorite player of all time? Steve Smith. What other hobbies or passions do you have outside of fantasy football? Hiking, camping, scuba diving, off-roading, board games, and video games. What are some your favorite movies? Pulp Fiction, Scott Pilgrim vs the World, Shaun of the Dead, Guardians of the Galaxy, Half-Baked, so many more… Who are some of your favorite bands? LCD Soundsystem, Radiohead, Beastie Boys, Rage Against the Machine, Tribe Called Quest, NWA, Flaming Lips, I could go on for quite some time. |
