Nice article Kyle! I like the stats snapshot to showcase the RB2 history in New Orleans.
I think Murray is going to run away with this job to compliment Kamara to be honest. But, I like Ozigbo as a potential replacement for that job should Murray go down. It’s actually kind of impressive Ozigbo was able to run for 1k yards last year given how bad Nebraska was & the fact they were playing from behind so often. Granted a lot of his yards came against lesser quality defenses, he still flashed last year.
OTAs & pre-season should be interesting. Buck Allen did a pretty good job running between the tackles in Baltimore even though he’s probably better suited in the Kamara role. Given that, Ozigbo is going to need some help as the 4th, maybe 5th RB on that depth chart.
Thanks, Ryan! Yeah I always knew in the back of my mind how productive the New Orleans running backs were but I never know they were that productive until I charted it out.
I agree, Ozigbo has a ways to go. Earning the ‘RB3’ job behind Kamara and Murray would be a big win for him in my opinion. Especially with the Buck Allen IR news and Ozigbo earning some first team reps with Murray out I see it as a possibility. Like you said, OTAs and the pre-season will be big for him.
