Fantasy Stat Pack: Week 11

Ryan McDowell

If you follow me on Twitter, you’ve probably noticed a series of tweets I share on a weekly basis regarding player and team defensive performances, all from a fantasy lens. I’m going to be sharing some of that same information with you here.

I use this each week as I am making my own lineup and waiver wire decisions and thought you might find this valuable as well.

Note: The scoring system used for this data is always PPR with four points for passing touchdowns.

All year to date fantasy ranks are based on total points.

Quarterbacks

Week Eleven QB1s (top 12 scorers)

Rank Player
QB1 Josh Allen, BUF
QB2 Lamar Jackson, BAL
QB3 Dak Prescott, DAL
QB4 Jimmy Garoppolo, SF
QB5 Jeff Driskel, DET
QB6 Kyler Murray, ARI
QB7 Sam Darnold, NYJ
QB8 Kirk Cousins, MIN
QB9 Baker Mayfield, CLE
QB10 Drew Brees, NO
QB11 Derek Carr, OAK
QB12 Nick Foles, JAX

Once again, Lamar Jackson was the story of the NFL in Week Eleven. Jackson led the Ravens to a dominant win against the Texans in what was billed as the game of the week but turned into a lopsided victory. Jackson threw four touchdown passes on only 17 completions. Meanwhile, Josh Allen rushed for another touchdown, giving him the league lead among quarterbacks, ahead of Jackson. The Jaguars got Nick Foles back on the field and in his first full game with Jacksonville, he finished as a QB1.

QB6 Josh Allen, BUF
QB7 Kirk Cousins, MIN
QB8 Patrick Mahomes, KC
QB9 Aaron Rodgers, GB
QB10 Jameis Winston, TB
QB11 Tom Brady, NE
QB12 Matt Ryan, ATL

As his team was getting blown out, quarterback Deshaun Watson played one of the worst games of his career, scoring fewer than four fantasy points and failing to produce a touchdown for the first time in his career. Watson fell from QB3 to QB5. Allen was the QB1 for the week and moved from QB10 to QB6. Aaron Rodgers fell from QB6 to QB9 as the Packers were on bye and Lions Matthew Stafford missed his second straight game, falling out of the top 12. Matt Ryan jumped back in as the QB12 while Jameis Winston dropped from QB10 to QB12.

The Cardinals and Lions have each allowed nine QB1 games through eleven weeks. With Arizona on bye, that makes Detroit the prime target. The Lions face none other than the Redskins and rookie Dwayne Haskins, who finished as the QB13 in Week Eleven. The Bengals and Giants have given up eight QB1 games each, which is exactly what struggling quarterbacks Mason Rudolph and Mitchell Trubisky…or is it Chase Daniel…need to break out of their recent slumps. Finally, the Buccaneers have allowed seven QB1 games, which could give veteran Matt Ryan a chance for another strong performance.

After the Broncos finally allowed their first QB1 game of the season, they are now tied with five others for the stingiest defense in the league. The Broncos face another one of those teams in Week Twelve as Josh Allen and the Bills play host. It should be easy to fade Brandon Allen, but Josh has been among the league’s hottest signal callers. The Ravens face the Rams, making this another week to avoid Jared Goff while the Giants face off against the Bears. This is not the week to go back to rookie Daniel Jones. The Cowboys and Dak Prescott travel to New England to face the toughest task of the season, but it will be difficult to sit Prescott.

Running Backs

Week Eleven RB1s (top 12 scorers)

Rank Player
RB1 Christian McCaffrey, CAR
RB2 Mark Ingram, BAL
RB3 Alvin Kamara, NO
RB4 Austin Ekeler, LAC
RB5 Todd Gurley, LAR
RB6 Ezekiel Elliott, DAL
RB7 Tarik Cohen, CHI
RB8 Tony Pollard, DAL
RB9 Joe Mixon, CIN
RB10 Gus Edwards, BAL
RB10 (tie) Le’Veon Bell, NYJ
RB12 Marlon Mack, IND

The Panthers were shut down in Week Eleven, managing just a field goal. Even though he didn’t hit pay dirt, Christian McCaffrey was still the RB1 by a rather wide margin as his unreal season continues. The Lions pushed the Cowboys to the limit as Dallas leaned on their running game. Both Ezekiel Elliott and rookie Tony Pollard cracked the top 12 for the week. Bears pass-catching back Tarik Cohen has been one of the bigger disappointments of the season but he produced his first RB1 game of the year thanks to 74 total yards and a touchdown.

RB7 Derrick Henry, TEN
RB8 Leonard Fournette, JAX
RB9 Josh Jacobs, OAK
RB10 Chris Carson, SEA
RB11 Mark Ingram, BAL
RB12 Le’Veon Bell, NYJ

There was very little movement as the top backs have begun to lock themselves into place eleven weeks into the season. Elliott’s strong game moved him from RB8 to RB5, while Derrick Henry (RB5 to RB7) and Chris Carson (RB7 to RB10) took slight hits.

The Lions defense has gotten worse by the week and they have now claimed the top spot on this list. This week, Detroit faces Washington’s Adrian Peterson and Derrius Guice, who found the end zone in his return last week. The Chargers and Chiefs are among the next teams on this list but both will be on bye in Week Twelve, leaving the Bengals as the other top target. Cincinnati hosts the Steelers and it appears that James Conner will not play after re-injuring his shoulder last week. Jaylen Samuels should see the bulk of the work but he is far from a sure thing even in this tasty matchup.

The Patriots and Steelers have yet to allow a single RB1 game, but each should be challenged by Ezekiel Elliott and Joe Mixon, who is finally playing up to pre-season expectations. The Saints have surrendered just one RB1 game but will have their hands full with Panthers Christian McCaffrey. The Cowboys (vs. Sony Michel, James White), Eagles (vs. Chris Carson) and Titans (vs. Leonard Fournette) have given up only two RB2 games, always making for a difficult matchup.

Wide Receivers

Week Eleven WR1s (top 12 scorers)

Rank Player
WR1 John Brown, BUF
WR2 DJ Chark, JAX
WR3 Calvin Ridley, ATL
WR4 Michael Thomas, NO
WR5 Michael Gallup, DAL
WR6 Stefon Diggs, MIN
WR7 Randall Cobb, DAL
WR8 Deebo Samuel, SF
WR9 Keenan Allen, LAC
WR10 DeVante Parker, MIA
WR11 Marvin Jones, DET
WR12 Courtland Sutton, DEN

It was an odd week at the receiver position. Along with the default Michael Thomas top-five finish, both Randall Cobb and Deebo Samuel repeated their Week Ten performance with another WR1 game. Chargers receiver Keenan Allen produced his first WR1 game since Week Three. The Jaguars welcomed back their quarterback Foles, but that didn’t change anything for DJ Chark, who scored twice on his way to a WR2 finish on the week.

WR6 Tyler Lockett, SEA
WR7 Cooper Kupp, LAR
WR8 Keenan Allen, LAC
WR9 DeAndre Hopkins, HOU
WR10 Julio Jones, ATL
WR11 Julian Edelman, NE
WR12 Marvin Jones, DET

The wild Week Eleven made for many changes among the season-long top-twelve scorers. Chark jumped back into the top-five range while DeAndre Hopkins (WR7 to WR9), Julio Jones (WR8 to WR10) and Julian Edelman (WR9 to WR11) all tumbled. Even with Matthew Stafford out of the lineup, veteran Marvin Jones enjoyed another strong performance and that put him inside the WR1 range for the first time this year, replacing his teammate Kenny Golladay.

Veteran receiver Julio Jones has been a WR1 in just two of his past seven games but he has the best possible matchup in Week Twelve as Atlanta hosts the Buccaneers. He should be locked into every fantasy lineup. The Dolphins are always a target when setting lineups and they will give the Browns a chance to start a winning streak and receivers Jarvis Landry and Odell Beckham could finally meet expectations. The Jets and Raiders are among the next targets and they face each other this week, which makes Tyrell Williams, Robby Anderson and Jamison Crowder all reasonable options.

The Patriots again show up as one of the top defenses, allowing just one WR1 game all season. They now have to try and step the Cowboys and receivers Amari Cooper and Michael Gallup. Other strong defenses against receivers include the Ravens, Bengals, Browns, Steelers and 49ers. That makes for some difficult decisions involving Cooper Kupp, JuJu Smith-Schuster, DeVante Parker, Tyler Boyd and Davante Adams.

Tight Ends

Week Eleven TE1s (top 12 scorers)

Rank Player
TE1 Travis Kelce, KC
TE2 Ryan Griffin, NYJ
TE3 Zach Ertz, PHI
TE4 Kyle Rudolph, MIN
TE5 Mark Andrews, BAL
TE6 Ross Dwelley, SF
TE7 Cameron Brate, TB
TE8 Hunter Henry, LAC
TE9 Dallas Goedert, PHI
TE9 (tie) Darren Waller, OAK
TE11 Jared Cook, NO
TE12 Dawson Knox, BUF

There were a few “fill-ins” who showed up on the TE1 list in Week Eleven. After placing Chris Herndon on the injured reserve list, the Jets turned back to Ryan Griffin, who produced his third TE1 game of the year. The 49ers faced the Cardinals without George Kittle but backup Ross Dwelley scored twice for his first-ever TE1 game. Finally, after OJ Howard struggled, the Buccaneers gave veteran Cameron Brate a shot and he responded with a career-high ten catches and his third TE1 game of the year.

TE6 George Kittle, SF
TE7 Evan Engram, NYG
TE8 Hunter Henry, LAC
TE9 Greg Olsen, CAR
TE10 Jason Witten, DAL
TE11 Darren Fells, HOU
TE12 Kyle Rudolph, MIN

There was very little change among the top nine tight ends but veteran Jason Witten moved from TE12 to TE10, while Gerald Everett, dealing with an injury, dropped from the TE1 group. He was replaced by Vikings Kyle Rudolph, who is the TE2 over the past three weeks.

Every week, fantasy players make the easy decision to start any tight end facing the Cardinals. This week, Arizona is on bye, which will leave many tight end streamers scrambling. Fortunately, there are other matchup-based options to consider. The Buccaneers are next on the list and face the Falcons. Typically, this would be exciting news for Austin Hooper but he won’t play as he deals with a leg injury. Last week, his replacement Jaeden Graham caught two passes for 23 yards. He would obviously be a risky play given his limited track record. The Bengals (vs. Vance McDonald) and Packers (vs George Kittle?) are other targets when selecting tight ends for Week Twelve.

A quartet of teams have given up just two TE1 games this year. The Ravens, Bills, Eagles and 49ers will make for a difficult matchup for Gerald Everett, Noah Fant, Jacob Hollister and Jimmy Graham.

Finally, here is the chart summarizing how teams have fared against each position. I’ve also included the schedule for this week for reference.
