Editor’s note: Welcome to the 2019 NFL Draft Video Profile series. Created by Andy Singleton and John Laub, these videos profile the best of the incoming 2019 NFL Rookie class. These videos will provide yet another terrific way to analyze the newest group of NFL rookies. The video profile of David Montgomery is the first in this series.
The 2019 NFL Draft class of running backs isn’t ballyhooed to be a great one. But, is it better than people want to believe?
There doesn’t appear to be any generational talent in this class of rookies, meaning there isn’t a clear cut number one at the position. As such, many rankings are wildly varied. However, there does seem to be some agreement that Iowa State’s David Montgomery is among the best, if not the best this year. Is he the merely a beneficiary of a shallow pool of talent, or is there more to his game?
