Bradley Ylitalo’s Scouting Notebook: Final Dynasty Rookie Rankings

Bradley Ylitalo

From one to 50, we have some special talent here. I don’t want to weigh you down with a long introduction, as I know you’re here for the rankings. Let me just explain how this works.

Going from left to right for each player, as you might guess, the number in parentheses is their overall rank. Then comes their name, position, and school. In the first set of brackets, is whether the player is a better PPR or Standard fit, relative to their position (QB’s obviously excluded).

In the second set of brackets, is the player’s risk factor on a scale that ranges from safe to moderate safe, moderate, moderate risk, and risk. This was done for readers to get a feel as to how close each pick is to a sure thing relative to their rank.

Finally, we have their draft projection using DLF’s ADP (not listed get’s N/A label).

I really hope you enjoy this. If there is a prospect that you want to know more about, just leave a message below. I’ll do my best to get back to you as soon as possible.

Final Thoughts

We’re most likely going to have five quarterbacks taken on Thursday. This group is special. If you’re anticipating needing help here in the next few years, this is absolutely the time to get it. I don’t think any of these young men are being overvalued ADP wise. As I’ve said before though, Josh Allen’s being underrated just a bit. There’s a reason he’s going to be a top ten pick. Don’t be scared to bet a third rounder on his upside.

This running back class isn’t quite what we had last year, but it’s still pretty darn impressive. There are seven backs I can confidently put my stamp of approval on. And after that, there’s still some really good talent. As I profiled in my running back rankings, I really want owners to make sure they know what they’re getting with Kalen Ballage. He’s got one of the more intriguing size/speed combinations I’ve seen but still needs vast improvement. To put it plainly, I won’t be surprised if doesn’t ever see starter-level snaps.

This is the most interesting wide receiver class I’ve ever scouted. There is little to no consensus among anyone. In my opinion, none of these prospects should be top four picks in rookie drafts or top 15 picks in the NFL draft. That doesn’t mean there isn’t some value here though. With a clear and very good top three of Calvin Ridley, DJ Moore, and Courtland Sutton, and a really deep pool of secondary talent, every team should be able to come away with a fresh infusion of receiver talent.

I don’t want owners to just go by tight ends overall rank or risk factor. Instead, I’m going to give you one last thing to consider. While it can be really tricky to anticipate when tight ends will become consistent contributors, I’ll do my best here. Trying to win now? Up your value of Hayden Hurst. Rebuilding? Mike Gesicki is your guy. Somewhere in the middle? Dallas Goedert and Mark Andrews should be more your speed. I don’t totally love this class but all four of these prospects have a chance to become quality TE1 or 2s.
