I love this time of year. Even though most of our dynasty league drafts have long come and gone, there’s plenty of maneuvering to do through the month of August and into September. My favorite articles to read anywhere, not just at DLF, are roundtable type of articles. It’s awesome to hear the opinions of many fantasy football analysts when they’re asked the same question in the same context. The IDP team at DLF was asked to give their answers to who they thought would finish 2016 as the:
- Fantasy IDP MVP
- Fantasy IDP Rookie of the Year
- Most Overvalued Dynasty IDP Player
- Most Undervalued Dynasty IDP Player
- Fantasy IDP Sleeper
- Best Dynasty IDP Buy
- Best Dynasty IDP Sell
- Fantasy IDP Comeback Player of the Year

De’Vondre Campbell, WLB ATL – I haven’t seen any rookie linebacker praised this summer more than Campbell, who is pushing for a starting role right from the jump. He has the speed and athleticism to secure an every-down role, and by all accounts has been one of the standouts of training camp. – Alex Onuschco
Deion Jones, MLB ATL – In an ideal landing spot with athleticism for days, someone can finally put Paul Worrilow to bed. Look for Jones to be the only rookie to lead his team in tackles. –Dan Sainio
Karl Joseph, Oak S- With many health questions surrounding other top IDP rookies, a healthy Joseph has little competition in an up-and-coming defense. – Jaron Foster
De’Vondre Campbell, WLB ATL- James Bradberry looks like the best bet for the rookie corner rule in corner-required leagues, but aside from corner, De’Vondre Campbell appears situated for a very solid year as the Falcons’ starting weak side linebacker. He should play all three downs as a rookie and see a high volume of tackle opportunities. -Steve Wyremski
Deion Jones, MLB ATL- A crop of really good options here, went with the replacement in the middle for the Falcons. If he can put it all together this will be a lock. –Adam Tzikas
DeForest Buckner, DE SF- I’m a little torn between Myles Jack and DeForest Buckner for who will be the IDP Rookie of the Year, but I think I’ll go with Buckner. Arik Armstead should take a lot of focus allowing Buckner to make some plays on the opposite side of the line. There will be other rookies who outscore Buckner, but his relative value based on position could be higher. –Zach Bahner
Darron Lee, ILB NYJ- I like Myles Jack long term, but love Darron Lee for 2016. I think he’s made a real impact in the pre-season film I’ve watched and there is plenty of room to work free behind the Jets line. –Trevor Bucher
Myles Jack, LB JAX- Jack is an athletic-freak and it’s hard not to bet on bet him because he’s going to produce when he gets the opportunity to play a significant portion of the snaps. Sure, there’s a lot of competition within Jacksonville’s defense for tackles, but the cream will rise to the top, and Jack should quickly rise up the ranks. –Bruce Matson
Karl Joseph, S OAK- This award is more wide open than in previous years. Many draft studs went to teams where they don’t fit well or won’t see immediate playing time. I’m going to go a bit unorthodox here and say that Karl Joseph will make his impact felt the most and could be in line for a serious rating bump between now and this time next season. –TheFFGhost
Myles Jack, LB JAX- Jack landed in a great spot for tackle opportunities and they say he’s playing mad after being passed over in the first round of the draft. –Bill Edwards
Adam Gotsis, DE DEN- He looks like Derek Wolfe, he plays like Derek Wolfe, and he plays opposite Derek Wolfe now. Gotsis has a ridiculous physical profile and play style that I think bears fruit sooner rather than later. In a league devoid of great defensive ends, he has the makings of a very good one. –Joseph Redemann
Noah Spence, DE TB- There’s quite the log jam among the rookie IDP linebackers and legitimate depth among the position in general. That isn’t the case for defensive ends. Spence is my top rated 4-3 defensive end in the class and has an immediate role as a situational pass rusher with room to grow. He could flirt with 10 sacks as a rookie, making a high impact rookie IDP. – Eric Olinger
