Ladies of the Game: Lisa London and Jennifer Eakins
Women have been making a break through in fantasy football for years. If you are playing or have played fantasy football in the past five years, it is highly likely you have had at least one female in your league(s). We are no longer sitting on the sidelines. We keep stats, we do podcasts, we are prepared!
We are as involved as men and we enjoy it. Men of all ages have been genuinely accepting of us impeding into their fantasy football world. They trust us as commissioners of their leagues and they are welcoming our ideas. There are many great articles written by females and we are a trusted source for information. We have passion and we are competitive. We want to win and be involved. It is that simple.
I will share with you a short series of articles by some of the “Ladies of the Game” who I talk with and share information throughout the year.
Let’s begin with Lisa London of Fantasy Sharks, followed by Jennifer Eakins from 4for4 Football.

When did you notice you were interested in playing fantasy football and how did you begin?
Friends introduced me to fantasy football around 10-12 years ago.
What type of leagues do you currently play in?
Redraft, Dynasty, IDP, Developmental, DFS and Best Ball/Draftmasters.
What is your common team name?
In MFL10s and best ball leagues I am leedoglaw. In my regular leagues each team has a different name based on the league theme.
What is the one league you play in with the most unique name?
It would be the SFB480 also know as the Fishbowl. People who do not play as much fantasy football as I do wonder why I am stressing over my fish!
Tell us about your most challenging league.
Most of the leagues I play in now are tough. I have a dynasty developmental league (or devy league) that I joined not long ago. I had no idea how to value my picks and when to go devy. I had to blow up my team and am now rebuilding it.
Longest league you have played in and for how many years?
I have a few that were six or seven years.
Do you write for any websites?
Lisa London writes for FantasySharks.com.

IDP League Record 12-5 (doubleheaders)
Planning for playoffs: I joined a very fun IDP super-flex dynasty league that started this year. I will begin with my developmental (devy), deep roster league. This is full of great owners.
Players on IR: Eddie Lacy, Keenan Allen, and JJ Watt.
Core Players:
QB: Andrew Luck and Blake Bortles
RB: Isaiah Crowell, Melvin Gordon and Jonathan Stewart
WR: Randall Cobb and TY Hilton
TE: Antonio Gates, Zach Miller, and Gary Barnidge
Defense: Leonard Williams has been great, and Landon Collins has been fantastic.
I was tied for second with week nine in the books. We play double headers, which is a challenge. You can climb up or fall down the rankings quickly. I am gearing up for the playoffs.
Redraft SFB480 Record 4-5 (trying to claw my way in)
My team started as a flaming dumpster fire, as I lost players to injury. It has been a rough season but I can still make the playoffs on total points.
QB (Start 2): Matthew Stafford, Ryan Tannehill, Carson Wentz, and Alex Smith
RB: Melvin Gordon and Ezekiel Elliott
WR: Demaryius Thomas, Cole Beasley and Mohamed Sanu (I am hurting here, a lot!)
TE: I am starting multiple TEs to make up for other spots, from Rob Gronkowski, CJ Fiedorowicz & Dennis Pitta
My Dynasty Rebuild/Project Team Record 7-5
I started the season with a decent chance but my team was weak at running back. I lost Sammy Watkins, Tony Romo, and Dion Lewis. Tyler Eifert was also a missing part of my lineup and has only recently returned. I traded two second round draft picks in 2017 including Tyrell Williams and Cameron Artis-Payne for Marcus Mariota. This will hopefully cement my quarterback position. I have high hopes for Rob Kelley, who appears to be the starter in Washington for now. As my team starts showing signs of light near the second half of the season, I am unsure where my team will finish. I am trying to move a player for a pick currently.
QB: Marcus Mariota
RB: Latavius Murray, Duke Johnson and TJ Yeldon (IR players: Charles Sims and Dion Lewis)
WR: Mike Evans, DeAndre Hopkins, Chris Hogan, Rishard Matthews and Quincy Enunwa. (IR: Sammy Watkins)
TE: Tyler Eifert, Dennis Pitta and Kyle Rudolph
Ideally, I would like a high draft pick next year. One of the 2017 top running backs would bring my team together but tanking is against my moral code. Always play hard!

When did you notice you were interested in playing fantasy football and how did you begin?
I was approached by a college friend before the 96-97 season to share a team with him. Since I had zero clue what it was about, it seemed like the perfect way to start. I fell in love with fantasy football and here I am 20 years later still playing and working in the field.
What type of leagues do you currently play in?
I currently play in two PPR 12-team leagues, one with 2QB and the Scottie Fishbowl 480, which is its own animal.
What is your common team name?
Stupid Sexy Flanders (from the Simpsons).
What is the one league you play in with the most unique name?
None. Sadly.
Tell us about your most challenging league.
My most challenging league is due to the other owners involved. It’s a local Denver media league so most of the players are involved in the sports world professionally. That leads to a shallower waiver wire and attempts at shadier trades.
Longest league you have played in and for how many years?
I was in a redraft league that I joined when my husband and I started dating in 2001. The participants are all from his days working at a lodge in Rocky Mountain National Park. The league name Lodgeball. It was all the same people give or take a few along the way for 15 years. It was fun and super competitive and we had two ladies from the start. Sadly, my husband & I left the league last season over some petty drama. It was a hard choice but one that we had to make.
Do you write for any websites?
I currently write for 4for4.com. I do a weekly tight end streaming piece that comes out on Tuesdays, and a Mailbag article that comes out every Thursday.

This is an impressive record in the SFB480 league. Many in the fantasy football and twitter arena know that the Scott Fish Bowl is loaded with many of the industries best owners with a true dedication to fantasy. Jennifer should be proud of her 7-2 record.
Thank you Jennifer Eakins for sharing your fantasy experience with DLF.
As you can see, the SFB480 league is popular with the ladies. I too am in the league. Who knows, a female might win it all one day! Stay tuned for my next article when I feature two more “Ladies of the Game.”
