Editor’s Note: This article is part of our Daily Content section in DLF. Daily leagues are growing in the fantasy community and we’ll cover them throughout the regular season. Remember, you can get a DLF Premium account free for a year (or your current subscription extended for a year) just by signing up with FanDuel and making an initial deposit. As the season approaches, some of us lose the best part of our fantasy football season: the draft. Well, thanks to daily fantasy football leagues, we are able to draft a team every week and test ourselves against thousands of other players. The drafts take minutes, the lineups are easy, and the prizes can be huge. Here at DLF, we will share with you some of the best free tournaments that have amazing prizes to the winner.

For those of you looking for advice on daily leagues, including those highlighted here, I urge you to check out the weekly series “Daily League Bargains” on DLF. It is a great resource for those of you looking for some sneaky additions to your daily lineups.

I will also choose one each week to participate in and share my experiences and urge each of you to do the same. Also, share any freeroll contests we may have missed!

Went with a new site in Reverse Fantasy Football this week and did pretty well, finishing in the top 20. Let’s take a look at the lineup and some thoughts here:

  • freeroll1Part-timers – At most these positions, picking seldom used guys is key. I went the route of starters with bad matchups and had varied results.
  • Defensive Problems – Denver surprised me against a Chargers team that has been scoring well this season. Defense can be a big part of a winning team if you pick the right (wrong?) one.
  • Rookie QBs – Most of them struggle and Derek Carr was no exception. Blake Bortles and Johnny Manziel would have worked well here also.

Now, on to the freerolls for this week and a preview of my team that I will be “rolling” with in week 16.

FanDuel.com – $1,000 NFL Freeroll

As always, keep your eye out for a freeroll to release on Friday or Saturday morning. Overall, the contests have been very competitive (60,000 entry limit) with payouts to the top 500 lineups, but that can change weekly. Given that the DLF staff has several experts focusing on this daily site gives you an advantage over the field.

This will be the freeroll I do in week 16. Since it is not open yet, I will post my lineup on the Optimized Lineup series with the FF Ghost and provide a recap on here next week.

Victiv.com – $1,500 NFL Freeroll

There was a freeroll contest on Victiv this week that has a $1,500 payout with the top ten finishers getting a free ticket to a $300,000 contest. This was based on the Thursday and Saturday games only. As of now, there is no freeroll for this Sunday but I would be on the lookout to see if this changes.

Draftster.com – $500 NFL Freeroll

This week, Draftster has a $500 freeroll. It is open to the first 1,000 entries and pays out the top 500 players. Given their bonuses for yardage, you don’t need to be as touchdown dependent in this format to win.

Draftkings.com – $10 NFL Freerolls

Draftkings has their standard $10 freerolls for the NFL in addition to more for other sports. This won’t be the way to winning a million dollars like they gave out last week, but it may be the first step towards it.

FantasyAces.com – $50 NFL Freeroll

This week, Fantasy Aces has a $50 freeroll with payouts to the top 20 scorers. They do employ two QBs which is a nice twist in the daily format. That may be a bigger challenge this week given the number of quarterback injuries and changes that have happened recently.

Draftday.com – Variety

Draftday still has a couple of freerolls they are doing weekly. The $1M perfect lineup contest continues and has smaller prizes for top finishers. There is also the 300 point target game where you are trying to get over the threshold. The pot is still floating at $1,500 for the third week in a row, which continues to make it a very enticing contest.

Sportstradex.com – Variety

Sportstradex once again has a few “winner take all” NFL freerolls. They vary from the standard salary cap contest to the pick ‘em contests. They are pretty creative with their lineups and rules so be mindful as you enter into one of these.

Statclash.com – Variety

Statclash tends to prefer smaller freeroll contests both in terms of prize money and entrant size. This week they have a pair of freerolls with one consisting of only the Saturday games while the other is for the Sunday slate. They use pretty standard lineups so it is an easy way to move into daily without worrying about the details.

Fantasyscore.com

There are no freerolls on fantasyscore.com this week but they have a variety of smaller free entry leagues. The number of leagues continues to grow as more players are joining the site.

Reversefantasyfootball.com – $50 NFL Freeroll

This site again has a $50 freeroll that uses their unique reverse scoring methodology (think “Race to the Bottom”). It limits at 1,000 entrants with the top nine getting paid out. It is an interesting concept and the freeroll is a great way to introduce yourself before starting the paid leagues.

Scorestreak.com – $180 NFL Freeroll

With their Tesla contest closed to new entrants, there is one less freeroll on this website. The $180 weekly freeroll is unlimited entries with the top 100 being paid out. The game is a little quirky as you pick nine players to hit key thresholds and get points for each one you attain. It is another fun concept to help those with the sadness of missing the fantasy title game.

Next week, we will highlight some of the freerolls for week 17 of the season and I will provide a recap of my performance as well!
