Editor’s Note: This article is part of our Daily Content section in DLF. Daily leagues are growing in the fantasy community and we’ll cover them throughout the regular season. Remember,  you can get a DLF Premium account free for year (or your current subscription extended for a year) just by signing up with FanDuel and making an initial deposit. Each edition of this series will highlight a different daily fantasy football site. Towards the end of the season, we will do more of a comparative analysis between the sites, giving a comprehensive overview of the daily fantasy football landscape.   For starters, though, we will focus on each highlighted site individually and give general impressions in order to give the reader an idea of exactly what the site has to offer.

First Impressions: Right off the bat I noticed that this is not the run-of-the-mill daily site. Most daily sites have a least a few options to choose from, but this site has only one.

Mobile Options: I did not find an option in the iOS store, but the mobile site is just as functional as the desktop versions.

Types of Contests

As I mentioned above, there is only one option for this site. You pick your lineup and play against four other drafters. Buy-ins are $5, and first place gets $10. The most interesting thing about Dollar Football is that you don’t use any player salaries. You just pick the players you think will have the best week.

Lineup Format
QB-RB-RB-WR-WR -TE -K-DEF

I prefer deeper lineups, either including flex spots and or a third receiver, but without a salary structure, this works fine.

Scoring Format
Passing touchdowns = 4 points, all other touchdowns = six points, one point per 10 yards rushing/receiving and per 25 yards passing, interceptions throw = -2 points, fumbles lost = – 2 points

This scoring system is something of a rarity for daily sites. Most of them include some form of PPR scoring.

Creating Lineups
As I mentioned earlier, you are simply picking the players who you think will perform best. With no salaries to worry about, this is a very simple process. This won’t necessarily make it any easier to win, but lineup construction is incredibly simple.

Summary

Overall, there isn’t much to say about Dollar Football. It is incredibly simple and straight forward. You log on, pick your lineup, pay your entry fee, and wait for the games to finish. There are no frills found here, but that isn’t a bad thing.

I really like the idea of this format, but my biggest problem is the payout structure. You pay $5 to play against four other people, but you only have the possibility of winning $10. The return on investment isn’t high enough to keep me hooked. Occasionally, there are special games set up, but the only week-to-week games are the ones mentioned. There is also a good referral system in place for those who enjoy the site and want to spread the word. It’s definitely worth signing up and checking weekly to play the special games when they are offered, but the standard game isn’t likely to be what most DFS players are looking for.
