The Dynasty Aftermath: Week Fourteen

Welcome to DLF’s Dynasty Aftermath. This Tuesday staple is our longest running signature piece as we have a little fun after a tough week at the Dynasty League Football office. You’ll find this article will review the week’s happenings in a variety of ways and help set you up for the coming weeks as we spin around the league in the way we know best.

Let’s take a look back at the week that was!

Week Fourteen Fantasy MVP

With the snow falling in Philadelphia, there’s no way too many owners of LeSean McCoy could have expected even an average day from the every week RB1. Instead. McCoy snow plowed his way to 217 rushing yards and two scores against the helpless Lions. McCoy has been consistently good all season, but he had his best day of the year when it mattered most for owners trying to either get into the playoffs or win their first round matchup.

Week Fourteen Fantasy LVP

It’s hard to pin this award on any player who gets injured, but owners of Adrian Peterson were disappointed when he produced just 13 yards on seven carries. With just one catch for another four yards, this was easily Peterson’s worst day of the year and one of his worst statistical performances of his career.  What worries dynasty owners more is the fact he has what could be a fairly significant foot injury. Stay tuned.

Lineup Fun

The unbeatable lineup of the week…

QB Andrew Luck IND = 326 passing yards, four touchdowns, 32 rushing yards
RB LeSean McCoy PHI = 217 rushing yards, one catch, four receiving yards, two touchdowns
RB Shane Vereen NE = Nine rushing yards, twelve catches, 153 receiving yards, one touchdown
RB Jamaal Charles KC = 151 rushing yards, two catches, eight receiving yards, two touchdowns
WR Marques Colston NO = Nine catches, 125 receiving yards, two touchdowns
WR Josh Gordon CLE = Seven catches, 151 receiving yards, 34 rushing yards, one touchdown
WR Cordarrelle Patterson MIN = Five catches, 141 receiving yards, one touchdown
TE Jordan Cameron CLE = Nine catches, 121 receiving yards, one touchdown

The dominant underdog lineup of the week…

QB Jason Campbell CLE = 391 passing yards, 27 rushing yards, three touchdowns
RB Marcel Reece OAK = 123 rushing yards, two catches, 38 receiving yards, one touchdown
RB Ryan Mathews SD = 103 rushing yards, three catches, 32 receiving yards, one touchdown
RB Bobby Rainey TB = 127 rushing yards, three catches, -4 receiving yards, one touchdown
WR Da’Rick Rogers IND = Six catches, 107 receiving yards, two touchdowns
WR Rod Streater OAK = Seven catches, 130 receiving yards, one touchdown
WR Marlon Brown BAL = Seven catches, 102 receiving yards, one touchdown
TE Andrew Quarless GB = Six catches, 66 receiving yards, one touchdown

The unexpectedly horrible lineup of the week…

Fun Stat of the Week

Bobby Rainey had 22 carries for 127 yards and one score this week. His first carry went for 80 yards and his next 21 combined for just 47.

Gut Checks

I’d be worried if I owned Trent Richardson. I’m taking him off this list next week because I think we’ve made our point.

I’d be worried if I have Andrew Luck at the moment. His numbers were inflated in garbage time.

I’d be worried if I have Rob Gronkowski. I don’t even need to say it.

I’d be worried if I was counting on Harry Douglas for the stretch run. It looks like Roddy White is back.

I’d be worried if I didn’t have Shane Vereen locked and loaded from this point on.

I’d be worried if I was late to the Stedman Bailey or Da’Rick Rogers late bloomers party.

I’d be worried if I thought I’d see that line from Hakeem Nicks next week.

I’d be worried if I had dropped Dennis Pitta.

I’d be worried if I’m ignoring how good Justin Hunter is starting to look.

I’d be worried if I’m playing any Bronco receiver. This has been amazing.

I’d be worried if I’m benching Danny Woodhead because he’s, well, Danny Woodhead.

I’d be worried if I have Brandon Pettigrew in my dynasty league. In a season full of disappointments, he’s somehow getting a pass.

I’d be worried if I’m not seeing just how good Cordarrelle Patterson could be.

I’d be worried if I owned Reggie Bush at the moment. No one is sure how hurt he is and that alone is unsettling.

I’d be worried if I didn’t think Keenan Allen is the easy choice for fantasy rookie of the year.

I’d be worried if I own Wes Welker. That’s two concussions in less than a month. If the Broncos are wise, they’ll let him rest for a few weeks and do a few more Old Spice commercials.
