Week Twelve Lineup Advice

You know the deal by now. You ask. We answer.

So, all you have to do again this week is post your question at the bottom of this article.  We’ll give you our answers in real time so you don’t have to wait any longer than you have to. We figured we’d get this out a little early this week considering we have a game TONIGHT!

If you want advice outside of the DLF crew, go ahead and post your question in the DLF forum as well. The answers you’ll find here are intended to only be from the founders of this site, so that’s what you’ll mostly see.

Just make sure to indicate if your league is a PPR league, and if there are any other unique scoring requirements.

Here we go…

First off thanks for an incredible site. I’m second in the league because of your help and because of Peyton Hillis and Brandon Lloyd first week pick-ups.

Now to the queries: 0.5 ppr

Freeman has been a consistent producer for me since I lost Romo, but I’m worried about his next match-up at Bal. Do you think Bradford would be the better choice against a weak Denver?, that’s how I’m leaning.

Also I have a good problem at WR. Until now Lloyd and Maclin have been my starters and maximum producers at that position until this past week when they fell just short to Meachem and quite short to Colston (who appears to be back to peak form). I’m worried about Maclin at Chi and I usually don’t like playing double WR from the same team. Thoughts on Lloyd vs Stl and Colston at Dallas

RB: Hillis, MJD, and Bush…Hillis and MJD have been beasts but technically I could bench one for a 3rd WR but I think that wouldn’t be helpful. Thoughts?

TE: Witten or Boss, I’ve been sticking with Witten and I think he’ll do well against NO

Sorry for the long post, just a lot of different feelings this week.

Happy Thanksgiving and thanks again

Glad you’re loving the site. Be sure to visit out advertisers, just a couple clicks a day, to show your support.

I’d stick with Freeman. BAL’s D isn’t as good as advertised and their corners are terrible.

I’d stick with Lloyd and Maclin, even though it’s a tough choice

RB: I’d stick with Hillis and MJD. If you can, play Colston instead of Bush.

TE: Witten

Go start clicking. 🙂

In in big game this weekend (PPR)I’ve got Calvin, but after that is gets real murky.

M. Williams vs KC
M. Williams @ BAL
Crabtree @ ARZ
Driver @ ATL
Hagan vs JAX
Knox vs PHI

I need to pick 2, and potentially a third, but I’m probably gonna flex RB K. Williams vs MIN.

So what do you think. If SEA’s Williams is healthy, I’d take him and maybe Hagan (#2 this week) against that JAX 2ndary? Crabtree’s matchup vs ARZ seems juicy but i don’t think i can trust SF after last week. Willams @ BAL screams flop to me.

DLF_Jeff

Williams scares me this week with his foot. I’d go with Williams (TB) against very questionable CBs in BAL. Crabtree would be my 2nd. I’m assuming you meant two other WRs besides Calvin.

why doesn’t anyone want to give Hagan a shot??

DLF JeffH
Reply to  Paradis

I used to give Hagan a shot and was relatively high on him when he was with the Dolphins. He has Michael Jenkins syndrom. A fantasy affliction that I give to players that have ability to play at the NFL level, but not the elite skills that will ever allow them to produce at a level that allows you to play them in your lineup. Now “ever” is a strong word and it’s very possible that I used it on Brandon Lloyd years ago too … but those are the extreme exceptions. Hagan is still young enough and is getting a shot. He can be rostered but I wouldn’t be starting him yet.

PPR

SJAckson
BJGE
Forte
RICE

Pick two…Thinking RICE and BJGE, Something seems to be wrong with SJAX, and Forte is to inconsistant, but I feel like I am overthinking it, which is what I love about this site, sometimes I read to much then start to see everything backwards until the week is over.

Rice is a gimme. I couldn’t sit SJax for BJGE. I understand your thinking and why you would play BJGE, and I would play him, but not over Jax. Forte’ is too inconsistent as you say.

I always say though, go with your gut instead of some guys on a website when you’re in a pinch. 🙂

Williams. BAL’s defense is not that great and their CBs are less than good.

I like Graham this week. But if Gates is starting, I start him over Graham. However, it is risky with Gates being up in the air.

I start Graham due to risk.

I’m in a 12 team league, 1 pt PPR. I need to pick two of the following, but at most, only 1 can be a RB:
Forte vs Philly
Lawfirm vs Detroit
Hines Ward vs Buffalo
Breaston vs 49ers

I’m tempted to go with Lawfirm and Ward based strictly on matchups, but I’m worried about Ward’s performace as of late. What do you think?

Have to go BGE and Breaston. That’s a tough choice though. Ward hasn’t been doing well and Ben is looking deeper. Forte is a tough play this week and looks slow.

Tough choice but Miller is injured and slipping. Keller should get plenty of looks this week. Keller gets the start.

Got to start 2 of the 5, one in the flex, and one WR.

Goodson, Mike
Stewart, Jonathan
Gibson, Brandon
Floyd, Malcom

I am leaning toward JStew if he’s named the starter in the flex, and Floyd if he practices Saturday, thoughts?

If it’s a PPR, I’d go with Goodson first. Goodson has looked far too good of late and has actually supplied the CAR running game with some life. Stewart has floundered horribly.

Floyd looks like he’s going to sit this weekend, which means Gibson may be your WR.

I think it’s about a toss-up. I’d probably play Ben because he’s been producing at a high level recently and Schaub has been a bit inconsistent. But it sounds like your gut is screaming at you to play Schaub. I don’t think either are a bad play. Edge to Ben in my book.

Oops, missed Harvin vs. Crabs. Tough call, especially with Harvin still being banged up. Either way though, as long as Harvin is starting, it’s best to play him. PPR it’s an easy decision to play Harvin as he’s all over the field. Frisco just too inconsistent although Crabs does tend to get into the endzone. Still, with Rice back, AP in the backfield, Harvin is going to get a lot of looks. He only had two catches last week but I think he’s good for 6-7 receptions in the coming week and he should be able to get open deep on the Skins.

Hello again. Love this site.

Re-draft, standard 6 pt per TD league.

QB and receivers are set and Dez killed me yesterday.

Start two running backs: S Jax gets the start. I have Ahmad Bradshaw and Keiland Williams as the only options I would consider starting. What are your thoughts? Usually, I wouldn’t be asking this question, but with Bradshaw’s demotion, should I go elsewhere or is this just Coughlin trying to send a message?

Also, would you start Baltimore’s Defense against Tampa Bay or Oakland against Miami. I am leaning towards Oakland.

Thanks.

Thanks for the comment. You know the drill, if you really do love the site, help us out by visiting a couple of our ad sponsors which helps us make money to add back to the site.

Bryant hurt me yesterday too.

I’d start Williams in a heartbeat this week. Coughlin is sending a message and I still expect Bradshaw to get 15+ touches, but Williams will get all the touches and is active in the passing game a bit too.

I’d probably go with BAL’s D myself, they have a knack for the big play but aren’t as good overall as OAK’s in my mind. I’d still start BAL’s D because big plays can make a big difference … but it’s always a crap shoot.

PPR? Good luck this week.

The choice comes down to Turner or Charles … you can’t sit any of the other guys as they are all doing relatively well, especially CJ, White and Bowe. GB and SEA are about equal in rushing D but Turner vs. GB is not a matchup I like. Too much potential for GB to run away with it and ATL to have to pass. Charles vs. SEA is juicy and I’d start Charles. Absolutely without question if it’s PPR too.

Thanks for the extra pressure. Always go with your OWN gut when it’s close. PIT’s run D is the best in the league, BUF is terrible. Foster is an automatic and I’d start Mendy 100 times out of 100 this week over FJax. It’s not even really a question.

Hey, I clicked on some sponsors as you wished!

Trade question. I have secured my bye for the playoffs in my standard scoring dynasty league. It is the second year of the league and I won last year. I was offered a trade for my number one pick, which is already guaranteed to be number 7 or lower. I was offered Jeremy Maclin and Deangelo Williams for my number one pick. We start three wide receivers. Trade deadline is tomorrow at 1 p.m.

My receivers are Roddy White, Santonio Holmes and Anquan Boldin. After that I have Sims Walker, Britt, bess, lance moore, Lafell, Jacoby ford, Heyward Bey, massaquoi and Owen Daniels. Not much there if one of my starters would get hurt.

Running backs are Peterson, Moreno, Benson, Bernard scott, Lynch, Forsett, Keiland Williams and Deji Karim.

Qb’s (we start 2) are Vick, Roethlisberger, Flacco, Clausen.

I was also trying to get Mccoy out of him, but don’t think he will let go of him.

Should I make this trade? Thank you very much and keep up the great work.

Thanks for the clicks, every one helps. We really want to expand the site and it takes not only a TON of time, but $$$ as well. Wives would much rather have spa days than throwing money at a FFB site. So thanks for the clicks!

Congrats on the good year! I would most certainly make that trade. The draft is a crap shoot every year and this next year is not looking that great, especially in the RB area. If you can get two quality starting players, and I still think DWill is, for a single crap shoot pick … you do it. At worst, you could move those players for a higher draft pick as I see it. If you can get McCoy out of him, even better, but I think that deal is fine as is. DWill will be elsewhere next year, at least in my mind and Maclin is enjoying a nice year.

Make the trade and sleep well. Now go kick some butt.
