Week Ten Lineup Advice

You know the deal by now. You ask. We answer.

So, all you have to do again this week is post your question at the bottom of this article.  We’ll give you our answers in real time so you don’t have to wait any longer than you have to. We figured we’d get this out a little early this week considering we have a game TONIGHT!

If you want advice outside of the DLF crew, go ahead and post your question in the DLF forum as well. The answers you’ll find here are intended to only be from the founders of this site, so that’s what you’ll mostly see.

Just make sure to indicate if your league is a PPR league, and if there are any other unique scoring requirements.

Let’s get after it!

Thinking about offering a trade in 0.5 PPR league. I could wait until next week since Miller’s on a bye. At WR I have Austin, Burleson, Welker, Knox and TB Mike Williams. At TE, Tamme and Z. Miller (OAK). Required to have 2 TE on roster (start 1). I’d offer Welker & Z. Miller and let the other owner choose 1 WR & 1 TE from his roster: WR: Harvin, S. Holmes, Jennings (don’t want Jenkins) TE: H. Miller, Shockey. Is it worth trying, or should I keep my depth at TE? Thanks!

It’s worth trying, but I’d want Jennings out of that.

Pick 1 QB: Vick or Eli.

Pick 2 WR: Dex Bryant, SEA Mike Williams, Brandon Tate, Ochocinco, Demaryius Thomas, Roy Williams.

Pick 1 FLEX: Any of the unused above, BenJarvus, Brandon Jacobs, Celek.

I have been carrying Pierre Thomas all year. It now looks like Owen Daniels may be out again this week, and my ONLY option to get a backup TE is to drop Thomas. My other RBs are Adrian Peterson, Darren MaFadden, and Blount.

Do I drop Thomas or eat the potential point loss at TE ?

Thanks,
Bob

Steve
Reply to  Bob

It’s important whether that is in a Dynasty league… if it’s a Dynasty league I’d probably eat the points this week. 3 times this season Daniels hasn’t achieved 10 yards anyhow…

If it’s a seasonal league, I’d drop Owen Daniels. Halfway through the season… only 1 game with more than 3 receptions, none with TDs, three in which he didn’t excede 10 yards. He seems to be a lost cause til next season.

Bob
Reply to  Steve

Thanks for the quick response. This is a seasonal league with 3 keepers (he won’t be one). Only problem is there is nothing on the ww for TE and I keep hoping he’ll be back for the league playoffs.

I appreciate the advice, I’ll probably drop him for his backup. I doubt anyone will grab him anyway 🙂

Boy, that’s tough. You must have a pretty good team if he’s last on your list for a drop. I can see it in a yearly league, it’s suicide in a dynasty league.

With a redraft league, you can drop if you like. If you don’t need the win, play it safe and eat the points.

Nothing too overzealous this week… it is getting to playoff clinching time though. On that note..

I’m taking Garrard over Orton. You concur?

Here’s my queries in my dynasty leagues.

Wells vs M. Williams (SEA)..

Mike Williams vs Mike Williams.. Seems like a nobrainer right? CAR’s 5th against the pass though, and the last time Big Mike Williams played against ARZ he basically raped DRC for 11 receptions or whatever it was.

And finally Royal vs Washington. Moss drawing dbl teams give Nate a chance to be start worthy?

Got 2 quick ones for you, a lineup question and a roster mgmt question for dynasty…

1. Garrard or Orton? The fact that I’m forced to start MSW has me leaning Garrard, but I’ve been fooled there before.

2. Thoughts on Henne? Does he become drop-worthy in short-roster dynasty leagues? I need to free up a spot this week, it’s down to him or Jared Cook.

We had the Garrard and Orton question earlier as well. I like Garrard a little more, but not much. That’s a toss up.

Apologize for this not being a lineup question, but if you’re up for giving thoughts on a dynasty offer I’ve received, much appreciated

Dynasty PPR. I’ve been offered Chris Wells and Legarrette Blount for my Mendenhall.

Mendenhall’s obviously the better of the 3, but do you feel this is enough value for him? I’m young and in a championship window as well, with enough depth to replace Mendenhall (Dez Bryant or either of the 2 RB’s would replace him).

Really only need help with my wideouts this week. Played the match-up with Schaub and missed Ryan’s great game on Thursday. Decided to not mess with a good thing and roll with AD and Foster for the rest of the year. With Finley out my best option is solidly Tamme, so yeah, that leaves wideouts!

WR: D. Bowe @ DEN or D. Bryant @ NYG or P. Garcon vs CIN or S. Johnson vs DET or or M. Sims-Walker vs HOU or M. Williams @ ARI or M. Williams vs CAR (pick 2)

So many options, guess that’s a good problem though. Bowe has been hot but is going against a shutdown corner, Bryant takes on the best defense in the league, Garcon has been good but not spectacular, Stevie has been great but he’s a Bill for goodness sakes, MSW and BMW have great match-ups but are both hit or miss, and Tampa Mike is one of the most consistent rookie wideouts I’ve seen. Leaning towards Johnson and Williams (TB), Thanks!

TB M. Williams and S. Johnson. Tough choices there but Johnson is getting a lot of looks and in DET, should catch at least 6 balls. Bowe going up against Bailey in all likelihood and he’s a bit inconsistent. Almost said Bryant, it’s a toss up. If you have a gut feeling, roll with it.

I just read your 2nd paragraph and it seems we agree.

A loaf of bread, a container of milk, and a stick of butter, that’s what LaRod Stephens-Howling is going to get you, for better or worse. A loaf of bread, a container of milk, and a stick of butter. A loaf of bread, a container of milk, and a stick of butter, do you remember the list, little LaRod.

Actualy I’m hoping that interprets to 50 rushing yards and a touchdown, 50 receivikng yards and a touchdown, and a return touchdown to boot, hence the stick of butter.

Need a flex player this week. Non PPR league. My options are:

Miles Austin against a good Giant defense.

Dwayne Bowe who may be covered by Champ Bailey all day.

Ryan Torain who looks likely to start but could still have a hamstring issue and doesnt play until Monday night.

All opinions welcome.
