With three more games on the schedule, the second night of the NFL preseason features a host of different players to watch from a dynasty fantasy football perspective.
Friday features a healthy mix of new faces in new places and youngsters trying to make a good first impression with their coaches.
With that in mind, here are four players from each game to focus on when the lights of Friday night are shining bright:
Buffalo vs. Washington
Donovan McNabb, QB, WAS
It’s just going to be weird, isn’t it?
McNabb enters 2010 with a Shanahan-sized chip on his shoulder. It would be great to see him develop some chemistry with his questionable receiving corps, if only for a series or two.
Keiland Williams, RB, WAS
Mike Shanahan has a habit of turning unknown running backs into fantasy dynamos. Can Williams start to make a mark in a game where he should see a lot of action?
Chad Jackson, WR, BUF
Jackson was left for dead in the fantasy world after unsuccessful stints with the Patriots and Broncos.
He’s resurfaced in Buffalo and is said to be one of the most impressive players in camp.
We’ll believe it when we see it.
CJ Spiller, RB, BUF
Spiller’s been working with the first team a lot in recent practices. If he starts the game with the first unit, that’s great news for his fantasy owners.
Jacksonville vs. Philadelphia
Mike Thomas, WR, JAX
Most dynasty league owners figured Thomas could be a very good slot receiver, at best. He’s beginning to prove that theory wrong. Let’s see what happens on the field when he’s with the starters opposite Sims-Walker.
Deji Karim, RB, JAX
Karim is one of our favorite sleepers of 2010. The battle with Rashad Jennings to be MJD’s primary backup starts Friday night.
Kevin Kolb, QB, PHI
A disastrous series or two would be the worst thing possible for Kolb. Expect him to play well and begin to put his stamp on the Eagles.
Charles Scott, RB, PHI
It’s going to be interesting to see if he can actually carve out an early role as the backup to LeSean McCoy. He’s been impressive thus far and should challenge Mike Bell.
Kansas City vs. Atlanta
Harry Douglas, WR, ATL
With Michael Jenkins out, this is Douglas’ golden opportunity to stake a claim as an impact player for the dirty birds.
Kerry Meier, WR, ATL
This fifth round draft pick is making his mark in practice. If he can keep it up, he could make the roster and avoid the practice squad. He’s a deep dynasty sleeper at the wide receiver position.
Kestahn Moore, RB, KC
Our interest in his abilities is no secret. A solid outing could begin the process of him making a case to be on the final roster.
Dexter McCluster, WR, KC
Our favorite swiss army knife gets his chance to shine on Friday. Let’s see just how comfortable he looks as he transitions to wide receiver.
