The Vikings have signed running back Aaron Jones.
The Packers agreed to terms with free agent running back Josh Jacobs on the first day of free agency and surprisingly released Jones. He quickly lands on his feet with a Division rival and should have a nice opportunity to produce. His final season in Green Bay was a disappointment as he posted just 656 rushing yards and two scores in 11 games but we saw he still has a lot of juice left in the tank after he carved up Dallas in their playoff win. Jones will have to stay healthy and avoid any lingering hamstring ailments, but he should prove to be a solid running back who has only Ty Chandler to really worry about taking carries at the moment,

The Packers are releasing running back Aaron Jones.
Such is life in the NFL. The Packers weren't expected to be in the market for a running back (no less cut one) but things changed dramatically when they surprisingly agreed to terms with free agent running back Josh Jacobs. While many remember the dominant playoff game against Dallas where Jones carved up the Cowboys for three touchdowns. However, his regular season was a disappointment as he posted just 656 rushing yards and two scores in 11 games. Jones hits the market at a bad time as most teams quickly addressed their needs at the position. He'll need to move quickly if he wants to secure a starting spot somewhere. Stay tuned.

Green Bay running back Aaron Jones had 118 rushing yards and three touchdowns in a 48-32 Wild Card playoff rout of the Dallas Cowboys.
He added a catch for another 13 yards, Jones has traditionally been a thorn in the side of the Cowboys but today was next level. In short, this performance proved yet again a healthy Aaron Jones is an effective Aaron Jones. This was a lost regular season, as he posted just 656 rushing yards, 30 catches, 233 receiving yards and three total scores in 11 games but today proved he clearly has something left in the tank. Now 29, Jones is a tough player to rank in dynasty leagues but a big playoff run should keep him in the RB2 conversation going into next season, especially since AJ Dillon did little to make anyone believe he's the future for the Packers.
