The Saints are reportedly set to release wide receiver Michael Thomas.
Thomas' career has been defined by two different stretches. First, he became one of the most dominant forces the league has ever seen, culminating in a 2019 season that featuring a ridiculous 149 catches for 1,725 yards and nine touchdowns. With nearly 6,000 yards and 500 catches in his first four seasons, Thomas was the WR1 in all of dynasty leagues. Unfortunately, injuries have ruined his career as he's only posted a total of 95 catches and four touchdowns in the last three seasons combined, playing in just 20 total games. Thomas will look to latch on somewhere but his days of dynasty relevance are sadly on life support.

The Saints have placed receiver Michael Thomas on IR
He'll miss at least the next four games due to a knee injury and is eligible to return in week 16. It's been far from a return to glory for Thomas and he won't win any comeback awards, but he did average seven targets over his first nine games while producing 448 yards and a single touchdown. The team has struggled to find consistency with new quarterback Derek Carr under center and the loss of Thomas should provide more targets for Chris Olave. As for Thomas, he's likely to return to the team in 2024, his age-31 season, and is found as DLF's WR71.
