Earlier, I recapped rounds one through five of our DLF IDP Mock. As a reminder, here is a quick overview of the scoring setup.

Here is a recap of rounds six through ten. This is where we see more defensive players selected and a where a dynasty owner’s style really takes over. Let’s get back into it at the top of round six.

6.01- Doug Green- Kiko Alonso, LB PHI

6.02- Jason Blanton- Alec Ogletree, LB STL

6.03- TheFFGhost- Von Miller, LB DEN

6.04- Karl Safchick- Allen Robinson, WR JAX

6.05- Steve Wyremski- Michael Floyd, WR ARI

6.06- Jaron Foster- Mychal Kendricks, LB PHI

6.07- Russell Clay- Khalil Mack, LB OAK

6.08- Eric Coleman- Jay Ajayi, RB FA

6.09- Eric Breeze- Lamar Miller, RB MIA

6.10- Dan Meylor- Julian Edelman, WR NE

6.11- Scott Peak- Matt Ryan, QB ATL

6.12- Eric Olinger- Greg Olsen, TE CAR

My Pick: I have Greg Olsen ranked as my TE2 in my dynasty rankings. He is the 1b to Kelvin Benjamin’s 1a in the Panthers passing game. He caught 5+ passes in 11 games and delivered back to back 10 catch games in the fantasy playoffs. He has a two to three year window of peak value, so this will allow me to grab a young player to sit on while he develops.

Best Value: Eric Breeze getting Lamar Miller at the end of round six is great value. Opinions vary greatly when it comes to Miller’s value and ability, but he just turned 24 and at the moment has the backfield to his self. Breeze stated “I love him as my RB2, not my RB1 like some do”. I agree.

Biggest Surprise: Honestly, I was surprised Michael Floyd went to someone besides me. His value is as low as it has been since he was drafted. Steve commented his target was Allen Robinson but got sniped by Karl one pick prior. I wouldn’t be shocked one bit if Floyd outscores Robinson this year.

7.01- Eric Olinger- DeSean Jackson, WR WAS

7.02- Scott Peak- Ezekiel “Ziggy” Ansah, DE DET

7.03- Dan Meylor- Tre Mason, RB STL

7.04- Eric Breeze- Jeremy Maclin, WR KC

7.05- Eric Coleman- Justin Houston, LB KC

7.06- Russell Clay- Sheldon Richardson, DE NYJ

7.07- Jaron Foster- Donte Moncrief, WR IND

7.08- Steve Wyremski- Breshad Perriman, WR FA

7.09- Karl Safchick- Everson Griffen, DE MIN

7.10- TheFFGhost- Vontaze Burfict, LB CIN

7.11- Jason Blanton- Julius Thomas, TE JAX

7.12- Doug Green- Martellus Bennett, TE CHI

My Pick: I’ve never been much of a fan of DeSean Jackson in fantasy, but his first season in Washington was pretty impressive. With one of the worst quarterback situations east of Cleveland, he finished with 1,169 yards and six touchdowns. If, and it’s a big if, Robert Griffin III can recapture his form, DJax should easily improve upon those numbers.

Best Value: With 12 linebackers selected in front of him, Eric Coleman grabbed Justin Houston. 3-4 outside linebackers rarely get a lot of love in IDP leagues, but Houston recorded double digit fantasy points in all but three games last year and finished the season with 22 sacks.

Biggest Surprise: The Ghost getting Vontaze Burfict as the 13th linebacker drafted is surprising. Is it a recency bias due to coming off of injury or have people moved on from him? On a team full of two down linebackers, Burfict could pay huge dividends at this point.

8.01- Doug Green- Duke Johnson, RB FA

8.02- Jason Blanton- Ryan Tannehill, QB MIA

8.03- TheFFGhost- Matthew Stafford, QB DET

8.04- Karl Safchick- Alfred Morris, RB WAS

8.05- Steve Wyremski- Zach Ertz, TE PHI

8.06- Jaron Foster- Muhammad Wilkerson, DE NYJ

8.07- Russell Clay- Teddy Bridgewater, QB MIN

8.08- Eric Coleman- Jerrick McKinnon, RB MIN

8.09- Eric Breeze- C.J. Spiller, RB NO

8.10- Dan Meylor- Charles Johnson, WR MIN

8.11- Scott Peak- Calais Campbell, DE ARI

8.12- Eric Olinger- Mark Ingram, RB NO

My Pick: After neglecting the running back position since I selected Jeremy Hill way back in round two, I was pleasantly surprised to find Mark Ingram still available. When finally given the opportunity to carry the load last year, Ingram finally lived up to his draft status. The Saints traded Jimmy Graham, their all-world tight end, to Seattle for a center and have stated they want to run the ball more to take pressure off their defense. Ingram is a rock solid RB2.

Best Value: For all the PPR running backs Sean Payton has pumped out in New Orleans, getting C.J. Spiller here is well worth the gamble. There were plenty of times you were able to plug Pierre Thomas into lineups last year in a pinch. Spiller will offer a much higher ceiling in the same role.

Biggest Surprise: The selection of Jerrick McKinnon could pay off for Eric, but it looks like Adrian Peterson is sticking around for the time being. If he’s traded on draft weekend like some rumors are saying, it’ll make this selection look better but I like both Saints running backs more. McKinnon looked like just another guy last year.

9.01- Eric Olinger- Greg Hardy, DE DAL

9.02- Scott Peak- Ryan Shazier, LB PIT

9.03- Dan Meylor- Jaelen Strong, WR FA

9.04- Eric Breeze- Nelson Agholor, WR FA

9.05- Eric Coleman- Austin Seferian-Jenkins, TE TBB

9.06- Russell Clay- Aaron Donald, DT STL

9.07- Jaron Foster- Isaiah Crowell, RB CLE

9.08- Steve Wyremski- Carlos Dunlap, DE CIN

9.09- Karl Safchick- Brandon Marshall, WR NYJ

9.10- TheFFGhost- Tyler Eifert, TE CIN

9.11- Jason Blanton- Andre Johnson, WR IND

9.12- Doug Green- Rob Ninkovich, DE NE

My Pick: Hardy’s 10-game suspension had not yet been announced when I selected Hardy. Had it been, I would have tried waiting another round or two, but I would have still targeted him. When he’s on the field he’s in the tier behind J.J. Watt at defensive end. He’s my DE3 behind Watt and Robert Quinn.

Best Value: I believe Ghost got one heck of a steal with Tyler Eifert. He was a prime breakout candidate going into last year and then went down with a season ending arm injury in week one. The Bengals passing game desperately needs an intermediate presence to kick start A.J. Green and the run game.

Biggest Surprise: Besides me selecting a player who won’t play the first 10 games, barring an appeal, there wasn’t much of a surprise in this round. It was somewhat shocking seeing Brandon Marshall last this long but he just turned 31 years old and now relies on Geno Smith to get him the ball. Honestly, is Smith really that much different than Jay Cutler at this point. It was a worthwhile gamble on Karl’s part.

10.01- Doug Green- Mario Williams, DE BUF

10.02- Jason Blanton- Cameron Jordan, DE NO

10.03- TheFFGhost- Harrison Smith, S MIN

10.04- Karl Safchick- Ndamukong Suh, DT MIA

10.05- Steve Wyremski- Latavius Murray, RB OAK

10.06- Jaron Foster- Fletcher Cox, DE PHI

10.07- Russell Clay- Tevin Coleman, RB FA

10.08- Eric Coleman- Keenan Robinson, LB WAS

10.09- Eric Breeze- Jurrell Casey, DE TEN

10.10- Dan Meylor- T.J. Yeldon, RB FA

10.11- Scott Peak- Cody Latimer, WR DEN

10.12- Eric Olinger- Ben Roethlisberger, QB PIT

My Pick: With my pick approaching, I was debating on Ben Roethlisberger or Cody Latimer to pair with my earlier Emmanuel Sanders selection, but Dr. Scott Peak made my decision for me. I love Ben Roethlisberger in fantasy football. He now has a firm grasp and command of Todd Haley’s offense and with Le’Veon Bell, Antonio Brown and Martavis Bryant at his disposal, he’s locked in as a top 10 dynasty quarterback for the next few seasons.

Best Value: If Latavius Murray makes it out of draft weekend without any more backfield competition (namely Adrian Peterson), Steve Wyremski will be dancing in the streets. I’ve loved Murray since he was drafted and when he finally got his shot last year, he delivered. Right now the only thing he has to compete against is the human meat sack, Trent Richardson.

Biggest Surprise: I wonder if the concern for Buffalo possibly switching to a 3-4 defense scared people off of Mario Williams. He has 49 sacks over the last four seasons and is coming off an 11 sack season in 2014. I believe Rex Ryan will find a way to maximize Williams regardless, but his position designation is key. For the record, I believe he’ll remain a defensive end.

That’s a wrap for rounds 6-10. We’ll hit the next five rounds next time.
