Editor’s Note: This article is part of our new Daily Content section in DLF. Daily leagues are growing in the fantasy community and we’ll cover them throughout the regular season. Remember, we have our own special private game for opening week on FanDuel. You can also get a DLF Premium account free for year (or your current subscription extended for a year) just by signing up with FanDuel and making an initial deposit. For more information on that special offer, click here.

As the season approaches, some of us lose the best part of our fantasy football season: the draft. Well, thanks to daily fantasy football leagues, we are able to draft a team every week and test ourselves against thousands of other players. The drafts take minutes, the lineups are easy, and the prizes can be huge. Here at DLF, we will share with you some of the best free tournaments that have amazing prizes to the winner.

For those of you looking for advice on daily leagues, including those highlighted here, I urge you to check out the weekly series “Daily League Bargains” on DLF. It is a great resource for those of you looking for some sneaky additions to your daily lineups.

I will also choose one each week to participate in and share my experiences and urge each of you to do the same. Also, share any free roll contests we may have missed!

FanDuel.com – $250 NFL Free Roll

A personal favorite of mine since beginning daily fantasy leagues, FanDuel is a great place to jump in on free daily leagues to sharpen your skills. The Free Roll is a small one, only 200 spots, so you need to act quickly to get in on the fun.

Here is my lineup ($60,000 cap), in which I will discuss my performance next week. Overall, I was happy with my selections and consider Shaun Hill, Shane Vereen and Zach Ertz major savings to load up my wide receiving corps and get a premier back in Montee Ball, who should get all the work he can handle against Indianapolis. We will see if employing the strategy of extreme value hunting to afford studs works for me.

Victiv.com – $1,000/$2,000 NFL Free Rolls

There are three free roll contests on Victiv that are capped at one or two thousand depending on the prize money. They also pay out several hundred people each so there is ample opportunity to win some money. The scoring in these games are a bit simpler than some of the others, but that doesn’t take away from the potential rewards.

Draftster.com – $1,000 NFL Free Roll

[inlinead]This is limited to the first 5,000 entries, but it is free to participate in and there are additional prizes for the top 133 players. An added bonus, they plan to run this during Week 2 as well so if you miss out, there is another opportunity to play.

Scorestreak.com – Win a Free Tesla

Unlike most free roll games, this one is ongoing throughout the season and requires you to have a perfect score for multiple weeks in a row based on predetermined scoring. It is a challenging format that makes you think about which players will hit key stats.

Draftkings.com – $1,000 NFL Free Roll

No limits to the number of participants and pays out the top 247 players. It is a great way to learn the platform and develop daily strategies on one of the most popular daily fantasy sites. They also have a lot of other free pools you can join in if the stress of winning money is too much for you.

FantasyAces.com – $1,000 NFL Free Roll

Again limited to the first 5,000 entries, FantasyAces also has done similar free rolls for college football so be on the lookout for those as well. There are prizes for the top 100 players and is a very similar scoring system to many fantasy leagues so the learning curve will be easy.

Draftday.com – $1,000 NFL Bracket Free Roll & $1 Pick ‘Em Free Roll

Draftday offers a pair of free roll options with the more traditional where you draft your team via a salary cap and play for prize money. However, this is a head’s up bracket where up to 8,000 can enter and 1,000 can win prize money. I will let you visit the site to read the details on this one. The other is a pick ‘em format that uses players instead of teams, asking you to correctly choose five players who will outscore their counterparts. If you play for free, you win $1, but if you choose to pay an entry fee, the prize money increases. These are a pair of fun spins on daily fantasy that can be a nice way to get your mind off that 24 team dynasty league.

Statclash.com – $50 Weekly NFL Free Roll

Statclash has options for both fantasy and pick ‘em free rolls. They have 250 person entry limits and while the prizes are not as big as some of the others, the price is right! The rule set is pretty standard with 0.5 PPR settings. Nice way to dip your feet in the proverbial daily waters.

FantasyScore.com Variety

This is one of the newer sites, brought to us by our friends at USA Today. FantasyScore is offering a wide variety of different games, including some free ones for you to try their new platform. Make sure you check out their fantasy page often as they’ve been unveiling many discount codes this week.

Next week, we will highlight some of the free rolls for week two of the season and I will provide a recap of my performance as well!
