If you’ve been following DLF for the past year or so, you should know about the FADS Worksheet. FADS is the Flexible Auction Draft Strategy, a method for valuing players in a startup auction draft based upon the scoring, starting lineup and roster requirements of your league. FADS has quickly become one of the go-to methods for player valuations and has provided valuable insight to numerous auction participants. As proud as both DLF and I have been of FADS, I knew I could make it even better and I’m convinced I have!

Version 2.0 takes FADS to a whole new level, adding even more flexibility to the worksheet and making it easier than ever for auction participants to get the sheet up in running. Below is the entire list of what has been changed in version 2.0:

  • New “Sideline” theme deployed to keep FADS in line with current and future applications
  • Users can now obtain bid amounts for bench players
  • Minimum start bid per player are now accounted for
  • FADS now auto-fills several fields which required user input in version 1.0
  • Users are now given a visual cue as to which player rows must be filled out with the “Pick?” column
  • Players can now see how much they can spend, on average, for the remaining starting players, bench players and all players overall
  • FADS now displays starting and bench players percentage of team points vs. salary allocation
  • Player dropdown list is now sorted alphabetically

As you can see, FADS now gives its users more information and asks them to do much less than ever before. It also has a much better look and feel so you won’t be having to look at that ugly green anymore.

Some of these changes I came up with on my own, but I’m very proud to share that several also came directly from Premium Member requests! As always, I hope you enjoy FADS and it’s new functionality. I am absolutely certain there is no better tool out there for auction draft participants.
