What’s going on here?
If you are experiencing any odd issues with signing on or accessing premium content on the site, please note – we are in the process of converting our membership and registration software. Most issues from the conversion have been resolved but there may continue to be some lingering erratic behavior. Please feel free to let us know if you encounter any issues in the comments below and we will work as quickly as possible to resolve any problems.
If you do not have a premium account, you should not notice any difference.
Why are we doing this?
One of the main reasons is to eliminate issues we were experiencing with our previous membership software product. A number of premium readers would encounter a situation where they were unable to access certain articles, usually the most recent premium article. We were eventually able to find a work around for this, but the vendor of that software was never able to identify the source of the problem. Our new membership platform utilizes an entirely different and more robust engine for managing access, so this issue should be eliminated.
The new membership package also provides us with a number of key capabilities to allow us to grow and deliver content in different ways.
The change may be a bit rocky for a day or two, but long term this is a much needed upgrade. Thanks for your patience while we complete the transition, and most importantly, that you all for being a part of the DLF community!
