The Dynasty Podcast League

Tim, myself and the entire DLF crew are very thankful for all the support that the dynasty community has shown the DLF Podcast.  We wanted to give something back to all of you, so we’ve created the DLF Podcast Listeners Dynasty League.  Tim and I are going to jointly manage one team and the other 11 are going to be given away to loyal DLF Podcast listeners through various promotions over the next several weeks.

To be eligible, you need to be following the Podcast (@DLFPodcast), me (@EyeoftheGator), Tim (@dynastytim) and the official DLF account (@DLFootball) on Twitter and you need to be a member of the DLF Forum.  I will Tweet out questions over the course of the next several weeks and the winners (assuming they meet the above-listed criteria) will be granted a spot in the league.

The league site is here. The scoring (PPR) is here. The league bylaws are listed here.

  • Once we have all 12 teams, we will start an online slow draft with a 12 hour clock.  Trading within the draft will be permitted, but there will be no trading of future draft picks.
  • Each team will have 24 roster spots with 2 IR spots (which can only be used for players actually placed on IR).  The starting lineup will be QB, RB, RB, WR, WR, WR, TE, RB/WR/TE, Team D/ST (no kicker).
  • Scoring is fairly standard PPR scoring, with a slight tweak to D/ST scoring to account for both points scored and yards allowed.

The regular season will be 13 weeks, with a three week playoff.  Six teams will make the playoffs each year as follows:

  • #1 seed (bye): Most total points
  • #2 seed (bye): Remaining team with best overall record
  • #3 Remaining team with most total points
  • #4 Remaining team with most total points
  • #5 Remaining team with best overall record
  • #6 Remaining team with best overall record

Tie-breakers will be as follows:

  • Total points
  • Overall winning percentage
  • Reverse order of total points scored by opponents

In the first round, the #3 seed will play the #6 seed and the #4 seed will play the #5 seed.  In second round, the #1 seed can choose its opponent from the winners of the first round games and the #2 seed will play the other winner.

Picks 7-12 will be determined by reverse order of playoff finish with playoff seed as the tie-breaker.  Picks 1 through six will be determined solely by reverse order of total points scored for the non-playoff teams with overall winning percentage and order of total points scored by opponents as the tie-breakers.   Again, there will be no trading of future rookie picks prior to the start of the new league year.

Prize

There is no league fee, but the winner or the league (or highest finisher who isn’t Tim and Jarrett) will get the following:

1.)  Get to join us LIVE on the Podcast and talk about their team and their season; and

2.) Win a lifetime DLF Premium Subscription

End of Year Adjustment

After the season, the owners of the bottom six teams (not including Tim and Jarrett) will be dropped from the league.  The players on those teams and the associated rookie picks will be placed in a dispersal pool and six new owners will be selected at the sole discretion of the DLF staff.  The teams participating in the dispersal draft may trade dispersal picks among themselves, but the teams not participating may not trade into the dispersal draft.  Once the dispersal draft is complete, the new league year will start and that year’s rookie picks may be traded.

Trades:  All trades will be subject to commissioner approval.

Expected Conduct:  All owners are expected to be active and to respond to trade offers in a timely manner.  Any owner deemed to be inactive will be removed from the league and replaced in the sole discretion of the DLF Staff.

Good luck and make sure you pay attention to Twitter!
