Week Sixteen Aftermath

Week sixteen was championship week in most leagues and we saw some incredible performances. From the expected (Aaron Rodgers and Drew Brees) to the unexpected (Jared Cook and Joe Webb), many dynasty championships were won and lost this weekend. Let’s take a look back and a look forward in this week’s edition of the weekly aftermath.

Week Sixteen Fantasy MVP

Aaron Rodgers has put up a record breaking season and he capped it off with an amazing performance against Chicago that featured 283 passing yards and five touchdowns. It’s hard to imagine too many dynasty teams with Rodgers having a losing record, regardless of the other talent they have surrounding him.

After being one of the most consistent players in all of fantasy, LeSean McCoy let his owners down big time with a 35 yard clunker in a game against Dallas.

Gut Checks

I’d be worried if…

I own Adrian Peterson in my dynasty league. Even the greatest of them all aren’t the same after a torn ACL. We’re likely looking at two years before we see anything close to the same level again. At that point, he’ll be 28.  Ugh.

I have Aaron Rodgers as my quarterback and play in week seventeen. Hope you have a good backup!

I have Daniel Thomas in my dynasty league. We’ve been down on Reggie Bush all season, but he’s really found his niche in Miami.

I’m playing against Tom Brady next week. Wouldn’t it just be Patriot-like to have him attempt to go for 500 yards to break Drew Brees’ new passing record?

I don’t have Cam Newton in my dynasty league. He’s put together one of (if not THE) best fantasy rookie campaigns of all time.

I own LeGarrette Blount or Jahvid Best in my dynasty league. I could see both the Lions and Bucs draft running backs this April.

I have Tim Tebow heading into next week. He should still be Denver’s starter next season, but another faceplant would give them some pause.

A Look Ahead to Hot Names on the Week Seventeen Waiver Wire

1. Chase Daniel QB NO

It’s tough to say what the Saints will do next week. They could play to win and hope the 49ers lose against the Rams, or just play it safe with their starters.

2. Joe Webb QB MIN

At this point, I think he’s back on the radar as a dynasty roster stash.
