It has been an amazing season so far. Several rookies have vastly out-performed expectations, as have several up-and-coming young teams. Key injuries may have already altered the course of your season, and a few potential waiver gems may now be bringing new hope to a season previously on the rocks.
It’s been a fun ride so far, and it’s about this point where we begin to see trends rather than just a few anomalous performances. Below are a few individual players who really jump out at me so far this season;
Cam Newton – I mean, really? A rookie QB with no training camp, on a suspect team with a new head coach… and he’s probably in the top five in most league scoring formats? Did not see that one coming. He would have to fall off a cliff not to end up as the ROY.
Matthew Stafford – I’m a huge fan of Stafford, and I really hope he stays healthy all season. The guy is a tough, exciting gamer, and he has elevated the Lions to serious playoff contention.
Fred Jackson – He is establishing himself as a top-tier RB. I’m not completely sold that he keeps up this pace, and at the ripe age of 30, he is not be a long-term dynasty value. But for the near-term, he is certainly out-performing his draft position and adding huge value to your roster.
Ryan Matthews – Seems to be finally putting it together, and may be the stud we were hoping he would be. And not a game too late for a Chargers offense which has again left the gate at a meandering pace.
Beanie Wells – Speaking of finally putting it together. He and AP share the most rushing TD’s (6) in the league at this point of the season. A statement I would have bet the farm against making at the start of the year.
Matt Hasselbeck – The wiley old vet is enjoying a mini resurgence in Tennessee. Happy to see him do well there, I just hope he holds up through the rest of the season.
Darren McFadden – My odds on favorite to finish the season as the number one RB.
Wes Welker – Wow. He has returned with a vengance.
And of course, there’s Megatron. He’s been building to this since he was drafted, and with Stafford leading the way, is a sure bet to be the top WR this season, and possibly for several to come.

Should I trade away L. Blount and a TE (Olsen or Keller) for Chris Johnson? Probably wont keep a TE after season, so which TE of the two do you like going forward this season?
If you can get CJ for Blount & Keller, I’d do that deal in a heartbeat. I like Olsen much more than Keller, I think he has top 5-7 TE upside.
Should I trade away the combination of Matt Forte and Johnny Knox or Ahmad Bradshaw and Johnny Knox for Adrian Peterson? If so which combination would you rather move? This an extremely deep 32 team dynasty league, non ppr.
Don’t know why you would move Forte, unless McFadden or Calvin Johnson are involved. He is literally 50% of an offense. That is assuming you are not really hurting for a QB.
Knox & Bradshaw seems about right to me for AP. If you are wanting Peterson, then you should do the deal.
I have Rodgers at qb so no real need there. He also has gerhart, should i target him as well in a trade? Or am I good just targeting Peterson?
