What do you consider buy low in compensation if he has only finished 1 season healthy, is 28, and coming off a broken hip? This is what contenders/potential buyers want to know.

It will vary some based on structure of the league. League size, contract league, PPR, bonus point structures, starting requirments will all play into the value. It will, of course, also depend on what position(s) you are looking to aquire. As far as a rookie pick, I wouldn’t give him up for anything less then the 1.3.

I own Gore and have been testing the waters but haven’t got any worthy bites. I was offered the 1.10 for him, but dont think its enough. Thoughts?

I wouldn’t let him go for anything less then the 1.3 at this point. You’ll most likely see a few lowball offers based on his injury. He’ll re-establish himself as a top 5 back and should pull such value by the first quarter of the season. Picking him up for MW, Starks and Jones was about right. Some upside to each, but still unproven talents for a solidified top 5 back ain’t bad. Two more solid seasons is what I’m expecting which should allow you to move him mid-way next season for equal value to what you gave for him.

I recently traded for Gore…my team is a contender and the team that traded him has some good pieces, but is kinda in the process of rebuilding. I traded Mike Williams (SEA), James Starks, and James Jones for Gore.

He’s averaged 14 games a season and top 10 stats. His hip didn’t require surgery and I’m betting on him having 2 more quality seasons.

We’re hearing he is recovering, but hips are a tricky deal. I’d look to move him because if his hip cost him time next year or another injury you’ll never get 1st round value again. I don’t blame a gore owner for trying to max out his value, but be careful because it’s a fine line between getting good value and none whatsoever.

I’d be more concerned if he had to have surgery on the hip. He is already running and all of the reports that I have read state he will see no ill effects moving foward into the 2011 season. I think selling him now would be a mistake unless you get top 5 RB value.

What do you believe Anthony Dixon’s value is? Does he have the talent/ability to be the featured back and eventually replace Gore as the primary ball carrier?

Thats a good question. We had the opportunity to watch him play a bit towards the end of the season. He looked spectacular in the pre-season, which doesn’t neccessarily say much. In season, he didn’t look nearly as impressive averaging just 3.4 YPC. Now, Westbrook isn’t likely to come back to SF, so Dixon won’t see any competition for the RB2 role which could provide ample opportunity. However, I see him staying in the role of a short-yardage back. But Gore owners would be wise to roster him as Frank tends to miss time each season. I don’t think SF adresses the RB posistion this year with too many other holes to fill.
