IDP Alert: Jonathan Goff, LB, NYG
Jonathan Goff has won the MLB job in New York.
Goff has been relatively impressive in the preseason and closed it out with a nice performance against the Patriots, registering 4 solo tackles, 3 assisted tackles and 2 passes defended. If his preseason work wasn’t enough to win the job outright, making matters better for Goff’s chances is the fact that his main competition, rookie Phillip Dillard, suffered what appears to be a relatively serious hamstring injury.
The MLB position for the Giants is, typically, a productive IDP position and Goff should already be owned in all IDP leagues. If he’s not, stop reading now and add him to your roster immediately.
Goff is 24 years old, has decent size at 6’2″ and 236 pounds and should he have a productive season for the Giants. He could be a top 15 scoring IDP at the end of 2010.  He’ll need to stay consistent and productive to keep his job. The Giants added veteran WLB Keith Bulluck a month ago and options remain should Goff not grasp the opportunity awarded to him.
